[EDIT 2]
Sorry for no updates yesterday >.>
When we weighed him yesterday he'd put on another 2.5grams, not as much as before but its still a good thing ^^ As you can probably tell from the photos I got this morning, his eyes are bigger, he's got more feathering, and hes just grown a little in general :3 Thank you to everyone who is showing concern

Everyone, say hello to 'Jack the Sparrow'
[link]I love him, hes all like 'GET IN MAH BELLEH O:'
[link]My dad found him on his back in a drain yesterday afternoon and brought him inside. Usually baby birds are dead when they fall out of the nest, so we were amazed to find this little guy alive and well, and surprisingly with no injuries, considering he fell from our roof xD
The fact is, he would have died if we'd have left him, either from the cold or by the bazillion cats near our house. So he's with us now, being hand reared.
He's only a nestling, so I'm guessing hes about a week old give or take. For the first day we just gave him sugar dissolved in warm water, but now hes onto cat kibble soaked in hot water, mashed together with egg yolk xD And he's kept nice and warm :3
I'm so surprised he survived the night, I only got 2 hours sleep because i woke up and couldn't drift off again *shrugs* Ah well, at least hes alright. But i know for a while I'm going to be expecting to find a dead bird on a morning ): All i can do is try right?
Anyone got any tips on looking after orphaned birds? x:

Old Sicilian proverb... a man is like a piece of cheese...
Wonder if you could teach him a song??
Always wondered the same thing about ants and their tunnel building abilities....
I'm weird.
I hope he stays happy and healthy. You are doing the right thing in my mind!

Temp Off DA. Computer Problems. Please Read Main Journal. Thank You.
I have read that some birds can have communication problems when reared in captivity, I thought about sneakily playing him a sparrow song I found...don't know if that would work though xD
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him, we're taking it one step at a time ^^

We have a macaw and some pigeons, but that's not quite the same.
The only advice I have is to go to your local pet store and get some special bird seed with lots of nutrients in it, that's what we did for the pigeons.

If he remained alive falling from a roof, I think he might be a bit of a fighter, so hopefully he'll live and nice long, hand-reared sparrow life and hope to see more pics of him! ^^

My life is in a sketchbook, take the sketchbook from me and I wither and die.98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot, if you are one of the 2% that doesn't copy and past this in your singature.
He's also very weird...he has a fondness for standing on one leg, and has yet to realize that it makes him fall over xD perhaps he thinks hes a flamingo, not a house sparrow
